Our Favorite THINGS!!!!
by O. Pra-Dada

With print journalism in crisis and free internships often benefiting only the wealthy who can afford to work without pay, a remarkable coalition of newspapers, magazines, trade and academic journals have offered exchange programs. For example, an intern at an academic journal in the Midwest may spend a week in New York at a major women's magazine, and vice versa. Some fits are better than others. This is all to give interns a more diverse experience and better preparation for the ever-changing job field. What follows is the result of one such exchange.

It's holiday time and the Villagers are getting ready to buy gifts for all their favorite people. What's on their holiday lists? Only their FAVORITE THINGS!!!!

What are we loving this season? Books -- lots of them! They come in all sorts of gorgeous colors. Pick up some with rich brown leather covers and pristine white pages. They look great in any living room and make you look oh so smart! Something in Shakespeare is super for any season.

Tweed is always a favorite: skirts for the missus and sensible trousers for the sirs. Looking for a blazer? Patches on the shoulders make a bold statement.

Walking around campus or city streets isn't as cold when you have a cashmere scarf. Dress it up with a fashionable peacoat and a super set of leather boots for a snazzy look.

Tickets to cultural events are a fabulous gift idea for the hard-to-shop-for person on your list. A night at the symphony, theatre, opera, or ballet gets you in the right crowd and, even better, an excuse to shop for a new LBD and shoes!

Tired of being frugal? Splurge a little in smaller ways. Try fancy chocolates. The dark kind is healthy for you! That's why it's one of our FAVORITE THINGS!!!!
