The Inspiration Behind
Muffy Goes Punk

Belle was visiting her favorite thrift stores in search of one of those awful visors with lights that midwestern bingo players wear. It's for art, she maintains. While she was digging through bins of "I Heart Craps" baseball hats, she spotted an ancient Seventeen across the room. It was an issue from 1985 and included an article entitled "Muffy Goes Punk," giving middle-class girls valuable tips on how to look punker than thou.
