GRRRrrrrrrrrr!
by Hezekiah Allen Taylor

even through e-mail
I can picture his face
clinching for the effect
and the harsh bubbling
of voice being focused
through amused
yet still clinched
teeth, like Dean Martin
picking up a sweet young thing
in a Vegas lounge made sweaty
by bodies soaked in gin
rather than true desert heat

he evoked the image
in exaggerated pantomime
none of it real enough to be
thoroughly acted upon
which makes it so very funny
and sweetly, sinfully
"nerdishly" sexy

but don't tell him that
he'll simply blush
and suddenly be at a loss
for quick comebacks
and he'll change the subject--
at least twice until
the slight of hand
doesn't seem so obvious
even to him
